VAWG Spaatzen Among First Women Accepted to VMI

Cadet Colonel Brooke Elliott (#1311) of CAP’s Virginia Wing is one of 20 women offered admission to Virginia Military Institute. Brooke was the first female to apply to the previously all-male school. Following graduation, C/Col Elliott plans to pursue a career in either the U.S. Marine Corps or the U.S. Air Force.

C/Col Elliott isn’t the only female with a CAP background to be accepted by VMI. Cadets Amy Abraham of Tennessee Wing and Lauren Wagner of Virginia Wing are also among the group who could join the “rat line” this fall. (Wagner has since accepted an appointment to USAFA –MJ)
