Spaatzen Named to Clinton Administration Post

James Babbitt, #206, an active-duty U.S. Army lieutenant colonel and infantry officer, was recently selected to serve as a Special Advisor for International Affairs in the Office of the Vice President. In this position, he is responsible for providing direct policy assistance and advice to the Vice President on matters relating to Africa, international peacekeeping, humanitarian affairs, human rights and democracy, and United Nations issues. This assignment follows a series of command and staff positions in combat units and duty as an Army and Defense Attache in overseas embassies. 18 Jul 98
