The Aerospace Leadership Scholarship Challenge…
Since 1997, deserving CAP Cadets have seen their dreams of becoming a private pilot come true thanks to The Spaatz Association’s Aerospace Leadership Scholarship. Each $2,500 assists these outstanding young people in the transition from a solo to a private pilot’s license and is the most generous scholarship of its kind. In 2007, we project to award up to 5 scholarships.

For the past few years we’ve had far more applicants than we have scholarships to offer. Since these scholarships are funded solely by TSA Members and benefactors many of our Cadets have been turned away for lack of funding.

Because we know that tomorrows Aerospace Leaders are sitting in today’s classrooms we are aggressively seeking to expand our scholarship awards.

One of our outstanding benefactors, Col. Louisa Morse, CAP (ret.) has offered a special challenge to us all. She has increased her annual endowment to include three scholarships in 2007 AND offers this incentive; Col. Morse will match any donation to TSA dollar for dollar up to another $2,500 made by 31 January 2007– giving up to two more Cadets a scholarships for 2007.

Please help us to meet this challenge and help our worthy Cadets in the best spirit of holiday giving! TSA suggests two ways you can make a decisive difference:

1) “PLUS ONE” — where each person reading this newsletter enlists one other friend or company to make a pledge of donation. TSA will provide special recognitions to these donors and details on “PLUS ONE” giving are being emailed to you separately.
2) TSA Membership — from 15 November2006 through 31 January 2007 each new/renewing TSA membership made via Pay Pal through our website (www.spaatz.org) will be applied to our scholarship fund. This extends only to those who’ve earned their Spaatz Award and makes them eligible for all membership benefits, including a vote in next year’s elections.

The need is great, the challenge is clear and your chance to make a difference for a deserving CAP Cadet is now…

Thank you in advance for your generous support!
