What happens at the gala
- Spaatzen from every decade, cadets, families, CAP leaders and supporters together for one evening
- Flight and Academic Scholarship winners announced
- TSA recognition, including the Torch Award (introduced at the 2024 gala) and the “Tooey” Lifetime Achievement Award (first presented in 2026)
- A Gathering of Diamonds group photo
The gala is usually held alongside Civil Air Patrol’s Winter Command Council meeting. In 2026 it was held at Spates Hall on Joint Base Myer–Henderson Hall, with shuttles from the Crystal Gateway Marriott. When the gala is on a military installation, guests without DoD credentials register in advance for base access; instructions come with your registration.
Sponsor the gala
Sponsors make the evening possible and help cadets attend. You can sponsor a cadet’s ticket, a table, or the event itself. Patrons receive gala registration discounts and program recognition.
